| Transportation The Harrington Park Volunteer Ambulance will provide emergency transportation for town residents from their home to any area Hospital. It will also transfer patients between Hospitals, and bring them home. The Corps will not provide transportation to Doctors' offices for routine visits. |
| Medical equipment The Corps has a limited supply of equipment that can be loaned out, including wheel chairs, crutches, walkers and bathroom accessories, such as raised seats, shower seats and commodes. All equipment is borrowed at the recipient's own risk. Equipment for the most part should be borrowed for a limited time, as needed. |
| Join the Corps The Ambulance Corps welcomes applications for new members. The requirements to join are: For Juniors: 16 years old with EMT and CPR Certification. Juniors may ride the ambulance till 10 pm. First Responders: CPR certification and First Responder certification. EMTs: CPR and EMT Certification. Members are generally expected to fill duty on one week night from 7 pm to 5 am, and take one 24-hour weekend shift, Saturday or Sunday, once a month. |
| In addition members are required to attend drills and meetings, which take place on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month. Junior members who go on to college are encouraged to remain involved, especially if they will be in town during the summer and at other times when college is not in session. EMT and First Responder classes are held at the Paramus EMS Training Center and are free to prospective members. Other locations are available, contact the Corps for details. CPR classes are held at the Ambulance building as necessary. From time to time CPR classes are given for the general public. If interested contact the Corps. |
